My 2020 new year and decade resolutions and 2010 decade accomplishments
With it being the New Year, it is now time for my 2020 New Year resolutions and 2019 accomplishments. It is not only a new year but a new decade, so i am not only going to make new year resolutions, but new decade resolutions. First i must talk about my 2010 decade and 2019 accomplishments.
2019 accomplishments
2019 wasnt my biggest year for accomplishments. My biggest accomplishment was my Planting possibilities lawn mowing job. Planting possibilities is an organization that has actually been a help to me. I have had plenty of these special needs organizations let me down. I talked about that in my blog post, think before you light it up blue.
2010 decade accomplishments
While 2019 may not have been my biggest year for accomplishments, i made some good accomplishments for the 2010 decade. I rocked my junior high school talent show and won 3rd place. I graduated from high school with a core 40. I went to the ocean for my first few times and one of those times, i did parasailing for my first time. I added several states to the list of states that i have been to. I started my business and got my facebook page over 1000 likes. I started my social group. I got my first 2 jobs. I got my first girlfriend. I witnessed a partial and total solar eclipse for my first time. There was even a rainbow with the partial solar eclipse. I witnessed a transit of venus for my first and only time.
2020 new year resolutions
Now it is time for my 2020 new year resolutions. I have 2 main goals for 2020. That is starting college and getting my drivers license. I am wanting to go to college for auto cad. Between money, my autism, and doing something that i at least somewhat enjoy doing, i would say that the auto cad is the best fit for me. getting my drivers license has been goal of mine for the past few years. I am hoping that 2020 will be the year that i finally accomplish it. 2020 will be different from the past years since my sister will be doing driving with me and i will be getting a moped that i dont need a license for.
2020 new decade resolutions
Now for my 2020 new year resolutions. If i can start college in 2020, i would like to graduate from college and get a job doing auto cad. If you have read my blog post about my frustration with being autistic and trying to have deep relationships with people, you that getting married is a big dream of mine. It would be great if i could make that happen by 2030 or at least have a good hopeful girlfriend by then. If i can get my driver license in 2020, it would then be fun to learn how to drive a motorcycle. My mom drives a motorcycle and gives me rides sometimes. It sure is fun. Also currently i am living with my parents. I am not in any hurry to move out right now, but it would be nice to move out and get my own small starter house by 2030. I would also like to start a band and play at the griffith rock n rail and/or griffith blues fest by 2030. I am going to read my bible and try to finish it by 2030. I would like to visit more places that I haven’t been.
2020 new 1/5th century resolutions
By 2040 i would like to be married, have kids, and have my long term house. I would also like to open a storefront for my business by 2040 if that is meant to be. For what i would do at that storefront, see my blog post, aea celebrating 6 years and storefront update. In my recent blog post, My favorite youtube channels of the 2010 decade, I talked about a paramotoring channel that I like and how it makes me want to get into paramotoring some day. I would like to do that by 2040. Also when it comes to me getting my own house, you might wonder I want in a house. There are a lot of people who dream of living in a nice big mansion, but that is not my dream. I want a house that is a little bit bigger than my parents house and that is on a few acres of beautiful land. I want the house to have a big living room with a nice fireplace and big ski lodge style windows. I want the house to have a big deck. I want the house to have a 2 car garage that I can use to do things like my music and woodworking. That would allow me to me to make some better products for my business. On top of having a wife and kids, I would like to have pets. I would like to have dogs, cats, and maybe even a horse. I hope that I can make this all happen over the next 2 decades.
Here are some of my favorite pictures that I have taken during the 2010 decade.

My favorite youtube channels of the 2010 decade
If you know me or have been following my blog, you know that I like to take pictures and play my guitar and piano in my free time. Another thing I like to do in my free time is watching YouTube videos. With that being said, here are some of my favorite YouTube channels.
King of random
The king of random is one of my favorite YouTube channels. I have watched some great videos there including, making a laser show, making one big bouncy ball from a bunch of bouncy balls, making rockets from matches, making homemade smoke bomb, and much more.
Bills channel
Is there a strange picture or video that you are wondering if it’s real or fake? Send it to bills channel and chances are bill will figure it out. Occasionally he will declare a submission unknown, but most of the time he figures out if it is real of fake.
Neil patel
Of course, being a business and website owner, I have done research on how to get quality traffic to my website. I have gotten some good advice from neil patel. He is definitely a person to look to if you are running a website.
The action lab
The is another great channel that is somewhat like the king of random. The person running this channel has a vacuum chamber, 30,000 lumen flashlight, the world’s blackest paint, 5w laser, and more that he has done some neat experiments with. The black fire video is one of my favorite videos from the channel
Kent hovind official
Kent hovind is an evangelist. He has done a lot of good videos about god and the bible, from creation to the end times. His creation seminar are some of my favorite video of his.
Unbox therapy
Is there a new phone, tablet, or computer that you are looking at getting? Unbox therapy might have a review of it. I have watched cool product reviews on there.
Ant venom
If you know me, then you probably know that I like it play Minecraft. Ant venom is one of my favorite Minecraft YouTube channels. I like how he is always trying to break minecraft. I have found out about some crazy minecraft glitches thanks to this channel.
What if
As you would expect, this is a channel of what if scenarios like, what if earth were the only planet in the solar system, what if the solar system were at the center of the milky way, what if the amazon rainforest burned down, and more. They have some very interesting videos
Phoenix sc
Phoenix sc is another minecraft channel that i like. I enjoy the cursed images videos. I have also found out about some crazy minecraft glitches thanks to this channel.
Pixel imperfect
If you do photography and you want your pictures to look their best, after taking the pictures comes post processing in photoshop. Photoshop is a fun program. thanks to this channel, i have found out about some cool things that you can do with photoshop.
Direct weather
Direct weather is a weather YouTube channel that i like. They do weekly, monthly, and seasonal forecasts. They also do videos about major upcoming weather events like hurricanes and snowstorms.
Tucker Gott
Tucker Gott is a paramotoring YouTube channel that i came across. After watching some of his videos, paramotoring is definitely something that I would like to get in to some day.
conclusion
These are some of my favorite youtube channels. I can’t wait to see what other great youtube channels I come across in the future. Be sure to check out my youtube channel, autistic eye art, and subscribe if you haven’t already.

Aea celebrating 6 years and storefront update
A little over 6 years ago on september 6th 2013 my booth went up for the first time at the griffith central market and I made my autistic eye art facebook page. I offer framed prints, greeting cards, bookmarks, garden signs, garden rocks, gourd necklaces, and gourd birdhouses. please let me know If you have any questions regarding my products or customer appreciation day, I’m happy to help. Thank you for supporting a small business and an autistic artist.
I have always had an artistic passion. From a very young age I would make thousands of pictures on my home computer. I would figure out how to play songs by ear. I would make up my own songs by making beats with my mouth or on a little keyboard that belonged to one of my older sisters. As time, and my talents progress, I continue to develop my visual and musical art. Most of my spare time is spent taking pictures or playing guitar and piano.
I had a very memorable high school career. I did my music in the talent shows and I took many great pictures during the school field trips and other school events. one of my favorite high school memories was the school dances. I had a date for every dance. one thing I didnt like about high school was the homework. I spent hours a night doing homework.
After all my hard work and help from the people who love me, in may of 2013 I graduated from Griffith High School with a Core 40. Achieving this goal was a major accomplishment. To celebrate I put on a graduation party. I did my music and other fun stuff. After the graduation fun was over came the big question, what am i going to do with my life. With the money I made off of my graduation, I started my business. On september 6th, 2013 I started selling my pictures at the Griffith Central Market. I didn’t think i would get any pictures sold that day. I guessed that I would be just giving out business cards, but I ended up having beginner’s luck. I got 5 canvas prints sold.
In the past 4 years my business has come a long way. I like to take pictures of the often overlooked beauty of nature around us. I have taken many pictures from the winter snow to the summer thunderstorms. I am hoping to make enough money to buy some nice photography gear. just imagine what my pictures would look like with a really nice camera. At first the name of my business was Puzzle Piece Photography. I Started out just selling canvas prints. After the first central market season ended I changed the name to Autistic Eye Art because there was already a business called Puzzle Piece Photography. I didn’t want people buying from them thinking they were buying from me. Then I opened my Etsy store for people to buy my products online. My Etsy store is no longer open because I now have my website. Then I started selling mat prints, cards, garden signs, and garden rocks at the Highland Indoor Market. On February 14, 2016 I started my website. This central market season I started selling mugs. I sell my products on my website, the Griffith Central Market, and other events. The Griffith Central Market is a farmers market at Central Park in Griffith, Indiana. it is every Friday 4-9 PM, May through August. I set up my booth on one Friday of every month weather permitting.
Someday I hope to open a storefront for my business, preferably somewhere in downtown Griffith, Indiana, my hometown. Over the past 6 years I have shared a picture I drew of storefront for my business on the holidays. One thing that I talked about in last years business anniversary post is what I would do with a storefront for my business. As i said in last years business anniversary post, First, as you would expect, I would sell my pictures and products there, but I would do more than that. Since I play guitar and piano, I would do open mics and karaoke. Also I do a disability social group called nwi differenability club, which I would do meetings for that at a storefront for my business. Also I would do workshops to teach people how to do some of the cool art things I do. I would also do game nights and movie nights there. I would also allow other people to display their art there. i would also do guitar and piano lessons there. I would also get it so people with disabilities could work there and get paid by work one, which is a company that paid me when I worked at the SNAP store in Griffith. it would be a fun place to be and hopefully it would help other autistic artists get the word out about their stuff. Also before i have mentioned that Tinkers Attic in Highland, In, one of the places that i do my open mic music at, is a good example the storefront that i would like open for my business someday. Earlier this year they expanded to selling food. Selling food is something may be necessary for a storefront for my business to have success. One that i havent talked about when it comes to opening a storefront for my business is when am i looking at opening it. I do not plan on opening a storefront for my business anytime soon. It is something that i am looking at doing later in life. There are other goals that i would like to accomplish before i do it. For one, i will need to raise my income. Running a storefront will cost me a lot more money than running my website and setting my booth up at events. Also if i am going to go to collage, i would like to complete that before i try to open a storefront for my business. If you want to see me open a storefront for my business some day, Supporting me on Patreon and of course buying my products is a great way that you can help make that happen. If you have any questions regarding my business or website feel free to contact me.
I am thankful for my business and the great gift god has given me. I would not be in the position I am in if it weren’t for all the people who have taken the time to check out my work and encouraged me to continue my artistic efforts. For that i offer a special thank you to every single person who takes an interest in my art and spends their hard earned money on my products. Thank you for taking the time to look at my website and going to my events. It is very much appreciated. If you have any questions regarding my business or website feel free to contact me. I take pictures for myself; to capture a world that captivates me. I hope it captivates you too.

20 signs that your not ready for a relationship (a must read if you struggle with getting into a happy relationship)

If you have read my blog post about my frustration with being autistic and trying to have deep relationships with people, you know that I have a big desire to get married someday. I spent several years unhappy about life and on the hunt for a relationship, thinking that one would make me happier. I had many failed crushes and a failed relationship. Then a few months after breaking up with my ex girlfriend, I read a blog post on relrules.com about not being ready for a relationship which you can read here. it helped me see where I was wrong when it came to relationships. After reading that, I have decided to write my own post with more signs that your not ready for a relationship that you should know. If you are failing to get into a happy relationship, it’s probably because you are not ready for a relationship.
1. your not happy
Are you unhappy about life and thinking that a relationship is the way to happiness? That is how a lot of people are. If your not happy with being single, then you can expect to be happy in a relationship. This was one thing that I learned from dating my ex girlfriend. I definitely came into that relationship very unhappy about my life, and while it made me happy at first, it wasn’t long before the beginning of relationship high wore off and I was back to being unhappy again. That is how it is for a lot of people.
2. you think that a relationship is everything
Do you feel incomplete without a boyfriend or girlfriend? Are you only happy when you are in a relationship? If so, you are not ready for a relationship. A relationship is supposed to enhance your life not be your life. You need to feel happy and complete without the need of a relationship before you think about sharing your life with someone else.
3. you want to be saved
Are you trying to get into a relationship in hopes to be saved from a bad life? If so you are not ready for a relationship. a relationship will not save you from a bad life, they can not fix all your problems. seek that fulfillment of a savior through god, not through a relationship.
4. you want to save someone
just as you shouldn’t expect to be saved by a relationship, you should expect to save someone with a relationship ether. if you want to make a difference in someone’s life, then tell them about god. if they listen to you it might make a big difference. sometimes a christian will date a non christian in hopes of opening them to god. you can do that without dating them. if you are a christian, is is important to date someone that is also a christian. remember the path to hell is paved with good intentions. if you date someone in hopes of saving then, chances are they will not be saved in the end.
5. you love the idea of being in love
If you are dating because you like the thought of being in love with then rather because you actually love them then you are not ready for a relationship. If you want to have a happy relationship, it is very important that you like the person for who they are and not just like them because you want to be in a relationship.
6. you focus more finding love than your interests
Is getting into a relationship your main goal in life? Do you focus on that more than anything else? Do you go to places and events in hopes of meeting someone who is relationship potential? If so then you are not ready for a relationship. One thing that will put you in a better position for a relationship is to only go to places and events that you would go to even if there wasn’t any chance of meeting someone that is relationship potential
7. you feel pressured
Are you trying to get into a relationship because you feel pressured because a lot of your friends are married or in a relationship? Or maybe and event is coming up that you don’t want to be single for? If you are trying to get into a relationship to impress others, you are not ready for one. I’m not one who feels pressured to get into a relationship because a lot of my friends getting married or being in a relationship, but i have because of events that i’ve wanted a girlfriend for. When i found out about about the great american eclipse in 2017, which you can read about my experience with it here, i wanted to watch it with a girlfriend. I ended up watching it single but it was still a great experience. A time that a lot of people feel pressured to get into a relationship is valentines day. If you are single this valentines day, there are some good advantages to it. Eharmony.com has a good article on that which you can read here. They also have a good article on not being ready for a relationship, which you can read here.
8. your unsure about you feelings
Have you ever asked someone out or had someone ask you out, you or they say yes, but then find yourself looking for reasons to love them or maybe you like them, but there is something in the back of your mind that doesn’t feel right? If so you shouldn’t. when god sends you the right person you will know. you won’t have to look for reasons to love them. If you are in a relationship that doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.
9. you have trust issues
Do you not trust people because of getting let down over and over again? When people do nice things for you, do you question their motive rather than appreciate it? While yes, there are a lot of liars and cheaters in this world, there are also good people. Don’t date someone if you are going to kill them with insecurities. You are not going to be able to have a happy relationship if you are worrying about your partner rejecting you. also if you have trust issues then your probably not trusting in god. if you are stressing about getting into a relationship, trusting the god is handling it will help a lot. he will send the right person in when the time is right.
10. you don’t have time for yourself
Some people have a hard time making time for friends and family, yet want to be in a relationship. If are a busy person who has a hard time making time for friends and family, a relationship will just make your life harder. You can’t tell someone you love them one day then im busy the next. make sure your friends and family are happy with the time you give them before getting into a relationship.
11. your not over your ex
Do you find yourself thinking about your ex a lot? do you miss him or her. are there certain things that trigger the thoughts. Would you get back with him or her if you could? if you are still reminiscing on your ex, then you are not ready for a new relationship.some people think that getting into a new relationship will get there mind off of their ex and into a better place, but that doesnt work. if you have a break up, it is very important to taker the time to heal from it and deal with your emotions before getting into a new relationship. Having a rebound is definitely a big no.
12. you think that you can change your partner
Have you ever been in a situation where like someone, your friends and family have warned you that they are a loser, but you have written them off, thinking that you can be the one to change them? If so, you are not ready for a relationship. You can not come i to a relationship expecting to be able to change your partner. Chances are they wont end up changed in the end.
13. you’re a fake
Do you act like a different person when you are around people who are relationship potential? while it is good if you can get into a relationship that allows you to break some of your bad habits, you should not be in a relationship that requires you to change into a totally different person. when you are in a relationship with someone, it is very important that you are able to be yourself around them.
14. you love drama
If you love drama, then you are not in a position to be a relationship. People who love drama don’t get very far in life and end up sad and alone. If your love drama you will bring it into your relationship and will probably destroy it. This was definitely a problem that my ex girlfriend had. I don’t think there was a single day that we hung out together that she didn’t bring up some sort of drama. It seemed like she was always fighting with someone. It was definitely something that took happiness from our relationship.
15. you go for superficial qualities
Do you wish that your partner made more money or bought you expensive things? If so, you are not ready for a relationship. Relationships are not about money or stuff. it’s about liking each other for who they are.
16. you can’t commit
Are you afraid to commit to someone because you are worried about them rejecting you or do you look at commitment as a birdon on your freedom? If so, you are not ready for a relationship. Commitment is key if you want to have a happy relationship.
17. you can’t see when you are wrong
When there is a conflict between you and another person do you always feel like it is the other person’s fault? You are not going to be able to have a happy relationship if you cant see when you are wrong. I also talked about the importance see when you are wrong in my blog post about getting into heaven which you can read here.
18. you find yourself in the same situations over and over again
Do you find yourself in the same situations over and over again? If so that is a big sign that you need to work on yourself and are not ready for a relationship. This is definitely something that i have dealt with. I talked about that in my blog post about my frustration with being autistic and trying to have deep relationships with people, which you can read here.
19. your desperate
You are definitely not ready for a relationship if you are desperate. People who are desperate give off a bad vibe and aren’t very well liked. You can meet someone who has feelings for you and then turn them away by being desperate. Even if someone likes you despite your desperation, they are not right for you because they are desperate themselves. Being desperate is a big cause for failed relationships and a big cause for my ex-girlfriend’s and I’s failed relationship. It was definitely rushed and forced on relationship. I know that being on the hunt for girlfriend has brought me a lot of frustration that can be avoided by not looking. Stop looking for love and it will find you. Love is like a cat; leave the cat alone and it will jump right on to your lap, chase after the cat and it will get scared and run away from you. Slow and steady definitely wins the race when it comes to relationships.
20. you haven’t learned from your past relationships
We all have our failed relationships before meeting the right person. I believe that god sends us the wrong people before he sends us the right person to teach us things that we needs to know before sends us the right person. You are not ready for a relationship if you haven’t learned from your past relationships. Of course as i already mentioned one thing that i learned from me and my ex girlfriends relationship is that getting into a relationship isn’t the key to happiness. One additional thing that i learned from the relationship is that god knows what he is doing even though sometimes it may feel like he doesn’t care. Breaking up with my ex girlfriend was very hard on me. First when i got the message from her saying that she didn’t want to be my girlfriend anymore, it was very frustrating to have to go back to being single. Then 1 week after the breakup my ex girlfriend got a new boyfriend, which enhanced my frustration. Then 1 month after the breakup my ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend got engaged, which further enhanced my frustration. Then started the christmas season which even further enhanced my frustration. Then about a month and a half after the breakup i asked another girl that i knew to be my new girlfriend and she said no, which even further enhanced my frustration. With being so frustrated i prayed and begged god to send me my future wife, thinking that that would put an end to my frustration. After going to christmas events and not meeting my future wife it felt like god didn’t care that i was so frustrated, but looking back now, i am glad that god didn’t send me my future wife then. If he would have, i probably would have pushed her away with being so desperate and stressing out about my ex girlfriend. I wouldn’t want to date a girl who is in the position that i was in. also after being jealous of my ex girlfriend’s new relationship, that relationship failed as well. With as frustrating as the break up was, getting engaged with a girl and then breaking up with her would be way more frustrating. I would have to say that god knew what he was doing and thanks to him not sending me my future wife at that time, things worked out better for me in the end.
Conclusion
Are you failing to get into a happy relationship? If so it’s probably because you are not ready for one. If you are unhappy about life and are thinking that a relationship will make it all better, you need to find happiness without the need for a relationship be getting into one. I hope that this helps you like the relationship rules post helped me. Do you think that you are ready for a relationship?

my 2018 accomplishments and 2019 New year resolutions
With it being the New Year, it is now time for my 2019 New Year resolutions and 2018 accomplishments. First for my 2018 accomplishments. One thing that I am glad to say is that even though my website still didn’t bring in much money in 2018, I brought in more money than it did in 2017. Also in June my business facebook page made it to 1000 likes. This year my special Olympics basketball team made it to state for the 2nd year in a row. Unfortunately the state tournament got canceled due to the snowstorm that hit Indianapolis that weekend. I did my float in the Griffith 4th of July parade for the 3rd time this year, but unfortunately I didn’t place this time. I also had a lot of fun playing my guitar at the local open mics this year. I also had a lot of fun at the all ability events and my social group events this year. I also went on a vacation to Montana in august. I took some good pictures, including some of the milky way.
Now for my 2019 new year resolutions. One thing I would like to do in 2019 is improve my business. i would like to focus less on setting up my booth at events and more on my website and getting my pictures up at galleries. i would like to do some good helpful blog posts this year. i would also like to add a balloon arch service to my business this year. Also i am going to go off sugar and not gluten and see what that does for me. also i am going the bible reading again. last time i did the 1 year plan, but fell off after a few months. this time i am going to do the 3 year plan so it will be less to read each day. for 2019 i will read the old testament, 2020, the new testament, and 2021, psalms and proverbs. like i did before i will post about it when i read interesting stuff. also this year i would like to focus more on ether getting a job or going to college. One option is to go to college for meteorology and then after that get a job being a weather analyst. i woud also like to get a drivers license this year and if not that then maybe get a moped that i dont need a license for to get me by until i do.

The mavis wanczyk scam and what I would do if I won 5 million dollars

About a year ago a person named mavis wanczyk won the biggest single lottery winning in u.s. history. Unfortunately ever since, scammers have been taking advantage of this winning. They make fake facebook and email accounts. Then they send people messages claiming to be mavis randomly picking them to win a portion of her winning. They then tell the person that there is a transfer fee that they have to pay before they receive the money. Then they take the persons money and don’t give the money that they said that they would give. A few months ago one of these scammers attempted to make me one of their victims. A few months ago I emailed an advertising company about setting up an ad account and they took a long time to respond because they were short staffed. While I was waiting for them to respond, I checked my spam folder to see if they had responded and their response went there and there was an email claiming to be from mavis saying that she had picked me to win 5 million dollars of her winning. Luckily for me I was smart enough to know not to jump right into getting excited thinking that I won 5 million dollars. The fact that the email went to my spam folder and sounded to good to be true made question this right of the bat. I screenshotted it and shared it with my facebook friends and asked them what they thought and several friend felt that it was a scam. One friend sent me the link to an article about this and the emails that it show were very similar to the one I got. After that I felt very confident that this was a scam, so I decided not to respond to the email. Like the article said, the chances of winning a lottery that you did enter are very low. Winning a lottery that you didn’t enter is nearly impossible
Now let’s say that I turned out that mavis cared about autism, found out about my business, and decided to support me with 5 million dollars. First one thing that I would not do is email random people and offer them free money. Now for what I would do with the money. For one I would put some of the money toward my business. I would buy more expensive facebook and google ads to help build my following and hopefully drive sales to make me more money. I would buy myself a high level dslr camera. I currently use an entry level dslr. I would also buy myself a better guitar and amp. I would talk to my family about opening a gallery for my business, and would open one if they thought it was a good idea. For what I would do at that gallery click here. I would also set aside about $200,000 for an engagement ring, wedding, honeymoon, and a house for my future wife for when the time comes for those things. I would set aside a few thousand dollars for a car for when I get my drivers license. I would also support charities that are helping people. One charity that I would donate some good money to is planting possibilities. If they could become what they want to be it would make for a great job opportunity for me. You can learn more about it here.

A. E. A. celebrating 5 years
A little over 5 years ago on september 6th 2013 my booth went up for the first time at the griffith central market and I made my autistic eye art facebook page. to celebrate this achievement I will be putting on a customer appreciation day. It will be on October 22nd at Set Em Up Lanes in Griffith, IN. I will be doing a 50% off sale, bowling, and doing a raffle.
Over the past 5 years I have shared a picture I drew of storefront for my business on the holidays. One thing I haven’t talked much about is what I would do with a storefront for my business. First, as you would expect, I would sell my pictures and products there, but I would do more than that. Supporting me on Patreon is a great way that you can help make that happen.
I hope it captivates you too.© James Leslie – Autistic Eye Art-The world through at autistic eye.

The Broad Street Blues Fest, a dream that I didn’t think would come true
Not only am I good a photography and art, but I am also good at guitar and piano. My favorite kind of music is blues. One event that I look forward to every year is the Chicago blues fest. I have been going to the Chicago blues fest for many years. I have made so great memories there. After going to the Chicago blues fest for a few years, I started thinking that it sure would be great if my home town of Griffith put on a blues fest.
I didn’t think it would happen. Griffith was already doing their rock n rail fest and I figured that if Griffith added another festival, the chances of it being geared toward the blues would be low. Then a few years ago I got very excited when I when on facebook one day and saw a post saying that Griffith was going to do a blues fest and if that’s not exciting enough, they made it a 4th of july event
The actual name for this festival is the broad street blues and bbq fest. Every year they do it on the weekend of or before the 4th of july. They do it at central park, the same place that they do the Griffith central market every Friday through the summer. They have several good bbq vendors there. One vendor I like is big daddys bbq. They also sell at the Griffith central market. There are also several good blues bands that play there. One band I am looking forward to this year is li led. He played at the Chicago blues fest before and was good. They also do fireworks there. This is definitely something that I look forward to every year. It has made the 4th of july a lot more fun for me.

Why we don’t need a “cure” for Autism and programs that you may not know about that has made my autism life better.
In one of my top performing blog posts I talked about my frustration with being autistic and trying to have deep relationships with people, you can read it HERE, but, I would say that there are some aspects of having autism that are very unique and special, and should be cherished.
My ability to enjoy nature
One great advantage to being autistic that I am thankful for is my ability to enjoy nature and notice the beauty and even the smallest details, the lines of a leaf, the bumps on a gourd, and the sunsets and rainbows. Most people don’t seem to notice or care for the amazing things in nature that I do. A big reason that I have started my business is to share my gifts to learn music and art, and capture amazing photographs of nature. As a bonus, my autism helps me stand out from other artists and photographers.
It makes my blog stand out
One thing that is very unique about my blog is that it is actually by an autistic person. While there are many autism blogs out there, most of the ones that I have seen are ether by autism moms blogging about there life with there autistic kid or kids or by autism nonprofits. Actual autistic people blogging about their experiences is not something I see much of.
The special needs dances and Special Olympics
one thing that i am thankful for and that has made my autism life better is getting to enjoy the special needs dances and Special Olympics. Those things have made my post high school life a lot better. Doing those things would be weird if I wasn’t autistic. These things provide a good way for me to socialize and make friends with other people with disabilities. My autism makes it socialize and make friends with other people at regular events.
Free phone service from assurance wireless
Another autism advantage that i am thankful for is the free phone service from assurance wireless. If you or someone you know has a disability, you or they might be eligible for this. There is one down side to this service. That is, is isn’t as good at services like at&t or verison. You are very limited on your data and minutes. I get 350 minute per month, which isn’t very much if you talk on the phone a lot, but It has been fine for me. The only time that I have gone over my minutes was when I dated my ex girlfriend. She definitely liked talking on the phone with me. I also get 1 gb of data. Though the service isn’t super great, it still makes my life better since it is harder for me to get a job and make the money needed buy a good phone and have a good service. It also allows me to ride my bike to good places to take pictures and be able to call someone if I get hurt or something.
The six flag disability pass
One thing I like to do for fun is go to six flags. I especially like to go there when they do their fright fest for Halloween. Normally going to six flags would be stressful for me since most of my time there would be spent waiting in the lines to get on the rides, but thanks to me being autistic, I am able to get their disability pass which allows me to not have to wait in the lines. Also if I bring friends, they get the advantage too. That definitely makes my times there a lot better.
The national park disability pass
Normally it costs money to get into national parks, but thanks to me being autistic, I have a disability pass for that. That is good for my business since when it comes to good nature picture opportunities, nothing beats national parks.
Conclusion
While my autism brings me frustration with trying to make friends, there are also advantages to being autistic from my ability to enjoy nature to great programs that have helped me.
Are there any disability programs that has helped you or someone you know?
